Place,Wiens pushes herself to be the best she can be but she also does everything she can to bring out the same qualities of her peers. While she’s described as being quiet and reserved, that doesn’t mean she isn’t a joy to be around as she’s shown to be quick-witted and someone you want as a friend. She’s also not afraid to be herself and stick up for things she believes in,no matter what others may think.

Wiens has not only been a top tier student in high school but she’s also managed to balance her social life, work and volunteering in the community. “Sara has always been a hard-working student. Her dedication to excellence in her academics is an inspiration to the staff that teach her and the peers who benefit from her contributions,”said Klaas Hoekstra, principal at Taber Christian School.“Within her peer group, Sara was seen as a leader and was a

dedicated friend.” When the snow flies in the win-

tertime, Sara can be seen out shovelling snow for the elderly around Taber and she has also vol- unteered for highway cleanup. Her willingness and desire to help out also extends to school events as she assisted behind the scenes at Taber Christian to ensure they reached success, and that has left a lasting impression among the staff. Proving she can handle respon- sibility with the best of them,

Wiens has a knack for finishing school work well beyond due dates and from this, she’s on schedule to graduate a semester early. “It is not only her academics that make Sara a standout student. She is kind and thoughtful to everyone. She is always willing to share ideas with others and is a pleasure to have in the building. She is mature beyond her years; a quality that some her age only wish they could emulate,”said Charlene Heydon, a teacher at Ace Place.“She seems to bal- ance her academics, work and social life with ease, which is not an easy task at her age. She is a model student and as a teacher, I hope that other students aspire to mirror her qualities.”
