Myers High School, Unser has not only taken on a task of grad- uating early but he’s also dedi- cated to his job at Chinook Carriers and his position on the Myers Rebels football team. He is someone who never shies

away from speaking up for oth- ers when they aren’t in a position to do so for themselves. He wears his heart on his sleeve and gives

everything he has whether it’s on the football field, at school or doing chores around home. “The one constant that always stood out with Konner is what he may have lacked in size, he made up with pure heart and determination,” said Jamie O’Connor, a coach with Taber Rebels Football.“He was the first player to arrive at prac- tices and games, and always willing to lend a hand, whether it was setting up for drills at prac- tice or setting up the field for a home game. Those are the things that many may forget but it was those things as a coach I appreciated very much. younger brother as his mom was needed as an essential worker. Despite all of his commit- ments, those who know Konner best, know that when he shows up,he’s going to give every ounce of effort he has,no matter what.

practice straight from work, and dog tired, give it his all and then go home to do his schoolwork before the night was done,” Jason Jesen,Taber Rebels Football president.“He never

complained once and even went so far as to apol- ogize to me when he felt like he was too worn out to practice as hard as he wanted to.And never did he seem to want to use it as an excuse, or seek out some kind of recognition for it.This is not behav- iour I often see from a typical teenager. He under- stood that his choices were his own,and he was determined to fulfil all of the responsibilities he had taken on for himself.” After graduation, Unser is pursuing the goal of becoming a heavy-duty technician.
