Message from the OTRA President:
As we are reaching the end
of a very ‘unusual’ year, the OTRA Executive has been busy at the drawing board planning the new 2021 Ride Schedule. With the majority of scheduled rides and campouts not taking place this year due to ‘you know what‘, we are exited to share our first, confirmed dates for the upcom-
ing season to mark your calen- dars: Dufferin County Main Track - May 7-9, June 4-6, July 5-11 (7 days), August 6-9 & Sep- tember
10-12 and
ST.LAZARRE, QC - September. Optimistic? YES, but a little hope never hurts! All rides will be up- dated regularly and you can find them on our OTRA website on
www.ontariotrailriders.ca,
or
members can follow us on face- book.
There have been a few
changes since our online Execu- tive meeting November 18. Linda Fell will discontinue as Co-President as of January. With career changes and having held the position for several year Linda is looking forward to a ‘lit- tle’ more time for other things. Lana English, who has been con- tributing regularly to ‘The Rider’ has handed the torch over to me, and I am looking forward to shar- ing news, tips & tricks regarding trail riding with all subscribers.
Inc, established in 1970, is an equestrian organization which promotes recreational trail riding and the creation, development, preservation and safe use of trails.
Fortunately, Lana will stay on as a Director. Caroline Fell has also handed over her position and Tina Kerst will now be looking after the website and facebook page. Thank you so much ladies for donating your time and effort over the last few years and help- ing OTRA stay a strong associa- tion!
Here are a few more things
worth mentioning: Elaine, our treasurer, has offered a few items for online auction/fundraising.
Among them was a western sad- dle with accessories that had been graciously donated by a for- mer, long time OTRA member Bev Martin, who ‘retired’ from riding several years ago. Thank you, Bev – Elaine was able to sell the saddle for $500! Another de- cision the executive made at the last meeting was to EXTEND all paid 2020 memberships into 2021 since we were unable to take advantage of our rides, and as a small thank you for your

continuing support of OTRA. Last but not least – Long time member Helmut Hitcherich cele- brated another ‘Happy Birthday’ … and we will not ask him his age! Wishing you all a very Happy Holiday Season and above all, Health for the New Year!
Happy Riding… Sonja Wyss, OTRA President
