umn for 2020 and what a year it has been; certainly not even close to the year we were expecting at last fall’s AGM. However, the members and leadership of the Ontario Xtreme Cow- boy Club showed their true colours this year; they supported each other by staying connected and keeping each others’ spirits up; we participated in online challenges, monthly give- aways, webinars, training tips and vir- tual gatherings and fundraisers. It was not an OXC season to enjoy our usual races and social activities, but our club felt as strong as ever, we welcomed new members and helped get one an- other – and our horses — through this strange pandemic year. Michelle Manklow winning the Monthly Member Give-Away; this month a Jolly Mega Ball donated by the West family. And the November Monthly Member Give-Away went to Jayda Lendt who won her 2021 OXC Membership – congrats Michelle and Jayda! Our last OXC Skills Challenge of
2020 was the Ground-tie challenge and what a great turn-out we had! The most entries of all our skills challenges this year and with so much variety and incredible skill shown – maybe they couldn’t race this season but its obvi- ous that these cowboys have been prac- tising their skills. It was tough to pick winners in the three categories but the adjudicators’ final selections were: Youth - Breanna Buckley, Adult - Kathy Bonehill, Creative - Janie Whit- tington. Congratulations to the winners who each received $25 in their choice of OXC swag. As usual we ended our OXC sea-
son with the Annual General Meeting, this year on November 28th. However, for the first time in OXC history, the AGM was held via video conference call with members signing in from their homes, barns, fields and possibly even their saddles. It was a very suc- cessful AGM and we’re happy to an- nounce and congratulate our Board of Directors for 2021:

everyone who participated in the AGM, who ran for a position, and es- pecially much gratitude to the depart- ing board members; John Hodgson, Leianne West, Karen Dallimore and Ellie Ross for their continued dedica- tion, hard work and commitment to the OXC. And now we turn our hearts and
minds to 2021. First, may it be a year of good health and safe keeping for all – and secondly, we hope that we’ll all be back Extreme Cowboy racing in the spring. Our proposed schedule is al- ready posted on the OXC website under the Events tab and our OXC Club Facebook page recently wel- comed our 3,000th member – please consider meeting us “in person” on Facebook and joining our fun club races when we re-start. There’s an old cowboy saying. “Life is not about how fast you run, or how high you climb, but how well you bounce.” The OXC Club certainly learned how to bounce this season when 2020 did not give us the year we were expecting – and we bounced well. On behalf of the OXC Board and club membership, we wish you a safe and happy holiday season and we hope that next year we’ll be running faster, climbing higher and cheering each other on together.
