Introducing Rewardz Horse Treats
The first scotch mint horse treats on the market registered with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency
Georgetown, ON – On November 12, 2020, Rewardz Horse Treats Inc. launched a scotch mint made for horses. The classic pepper- mint treat will be sold across Canada through tack stores and equine retailers. Peppermints have been a favourite treat
of horses throughout the years. An article on
AmericasBestRacing.com that chronicles “Favorite Snacks of Famous Racehorses” re- counts how “[Cigar’s] jockey, Jerry Bailey, would reward him with a peppermint after every
race.” Another article on
ihearthorses.com fondly remembers that Seattle Slew was buried “with his favourite blanket and a bag of peppermints.” “My horses always loved peppermints,
but I struggled to find them in equine retail outlets,” said Paul Lawson, founder of Re- wardz Horse Treats. “The ones that are avail- able in grocery stores and bulk locations have not undergone the formula and la- belling review required for registration.” Now there is scotch mint, made with nat-
ural peppermint oil, registered with the Ani- mal Feed Division of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. Rewardz Horse Treats are made with human-grade ingredients in a food-grade facility. Rewardz Horse Treats are proudly made
in Canada and are distributed by CAN-PRO Equestrian Supply in Rockwood, Ontario. Rewardz will donate a portion of pro- ceeds to local and national organizations that
support and promote horse welfare.
