Mayor’s Message

OUR Town Guide is stacked with interesting information useful for visitors and residents alike. You can find something for everyone here, be it in the town and parish, or the lovely varied landscapes, coast and settlements within easy reach. There are activities throughout the year for all ages and

interests, increasingly popular street events, festivals, and a burgeoning Arts and Crafts culture. We are well served for retail, leisure, health and well-being, with easy access to the A38 providing excellent travel links to the wider community. Our position as a gateway to Dartmoor National Park is

invaluable. The moors, with their rich history, ecology and inspiring landscapes are not to be missed! Several of the distinctive tors are over 600 metres high …. the official UK definition of a mountain. A warm welcome to you all. Enjoy!
