1. Why are you passionate about your specialty and what sets you apart from other practitioners in the holistic fi eld?
When multiple miscarriages and alopecia areata universalis painfully
changed my life, my husband and I used fi nancial planning to exert control and positively infl uence our future. As I experienced renewed hope and purpose, my professional interests changed. I aspired to leave my global corporate executive job and help other people experience the power that comes with owning their wealth.
I became a Certifi ed Financial PlannerTM and joined Procyon Partners,
an independent fi duciary team. Daily, I use my own personal health expe- riences as professional inspiration to help clients optimize their fi nancial health by experiencing three Cs:
• Clarity around what they are doing • Comfort around why they are doing it, and • Confi dence around what they can infl uence
2. Tell us about the best memory you have about being a holistic business owner.
I love it when clients say, “I feel so much better.” An accomplished couple in their 60s decided that they needed a new approach to their money as they prepared for retirement. They left their previous broker and began working with my fi duciary team. Early in the relationship, af- ter we discussed the tradeoffs with different pension collection strategies available to them, the wife volunteered, “I never understood my fi nances this clearly before.” And the husband agreed saying, “I never felt this good talking about them either.” This motivates me daily.

sage therapy and custom foot orthotics. We treat all types of musculoskel- etal conditions with comprehensive techniques that are tailored to each individual. The offi ce was opened in 1993 and has gratefully been serving the Farmington Valley and beyond ever since.
1. Why are you passionate about your specialty? Functional Medicine and Acupuncture are part of our practice as we
believe in treating the whole person inside and out. Nothing in the body works in isolation! All that we do/feel/eat/breathe/think has an effect on our body’s ability to function optimally. Our practice is different as we work to identify and recalibrate the source of those imbalances. We have a great network of practitioners right in our center and our collaboration is a huge benefi t to our patients.
2. What sets you apart from other practitioners in the holistic fi eld? Utilizing the Shape Reclaimed program along with Nutrient Body Sculpt
makes us the only offi ce in CT to offer this exclusive anti-infl ammatory, whole food, nutrient rich system of restoring real health. Our goal is to help our patients look and feel the best they possibly can so they can enjoy life as much as we do!

Spectrum Awakening Dr. Jared Skowron & Dr. Nicole Kerr
pectrum Awakening is Connecticut’s Leading All-Natural Clinic helping children with Autism, ADHD, and Anxiety. Dr. Jared
Skowron has helped children for over 17 years fulfi ll their full po- tential, using natural medicines instead of harmful pharmaceuticals.
1. Why are you passionate about your specialty?
I started college wanting to be a pediatrician, but soon real- ized their day to day was full of vaccines and antibiotics. Their outcomes aren’t that good when you look at them. The numbers of sick children with autism, ADHD, asthma, and behavioral dis- orders are only increasing with no end in sight. Whatever conven- tional medicine is doing, frankly it’s not working for these condi- tions. I wanted to be better.
2. Tell us about the best memory you have about being a holistic practitioner.
Asking about a best memory over 17 years is like asking about the best memory of my wife, my family, or my child, that’s impos- sible. I could talk about being on NBC in Hartford over 25 times sharing our work with natural medicine and kids. I could talk about lecturing on stage with Temple Grandin or Jenny McCarthy. In reality, my best memories happen every day. When a mother tells me her autistic child spoke for the fi rst time in years because of our treatments, or a child is out of pain, or the screaming has stopped and the family isn’t walking on eggshells every minute. The day to day of my work that helps a child, helps the entire fam- ily. These are the memories I’ll have for a lifetime.
3. What plans do you have for the future for your practice? Our future is to grow Spectrum Awakening into an internation-
ally known natural clinic that helps families with kids with autism, ADHD, and anxiety. We currently work with children all over the USA, all over the world, and ship our treatments nationally and internationally. When the number of children with autism starts to decrease worldwide, then we have fi nally begun to share our work.
4. What do you like the most about being a part of Natural Nutmeg?
I’ve been happy to work with Diane at Natural Nutmeg for
over a decade now. Persistence is one of the most diffi cult traits to maintain and Natural Nutmeg has done that, providing Con- necticut with access to experts around the state to help families.
