what we would have done. Our farm is only 100 acres and you can’t get a pack of hounds fit on that.

The hounds are Brian’s pride and joy, they are fed on quality kibble not raw meat and as long as a hound is happy in its retirement, it has a home for life at Plum Park Farm where Brian resides with his much loved wife Debbie. “A hound will average nine seasons, but their welfare is paramount”, says Brian. “We will quite oſten pick up and drop off hounds throughout a day so even the older ones can be part of the fun. They have both a grass yard with straw beds as well as a concrete yard with fluffy straw ledges at home and my first job in the morning once they have had their breakfast is to shovel up a hell of a lot of dog sh*t!”

With Brian’s passion for what he does as alive as ever along with his wife Debbie’s support (we all know the saying, ‘behind every great man....!’) and along with the hopeful

succession of his son Jamie, the future of the Farmers Bloodhounds is in good hands. The Farmers Bloodhound “Team” (whips, masters, secretaries, puppy walkers, photographer etc, etc) are fundamental to the pack’s survival. “We are always trying new ways to keep things going, Covid has brought along a halt to many of these things, including our new venture of hosting our very own T

eam Chase this

year”, sighs Brian. “This has been decades in the making as Debbie and I were heavily involved in the open team chasing circuit back in the 80’ and 90’ of mine to host a T

s. It has always been a dream eam Chase from home, the hedges were

planted some thirty years ago and have been trimmed and nurtured every year since to give us the incredible course we now have to offer; here’

s to next year!”
