Charity Horse Dressage 2020 Report by Maxine Ievers
show field at Tiffield as I had lost our venue at Whitfield. I had run a show at the Whitfield venue for seven years. We invaded Sarah’s field on July 31st but with the threat of Covid 19 hanging over us we did not know how long we would be able to run the dressage evenings. I ran three intros, two prelims and offered a novice. With large entries in July, I was worried with shortage of light that we might have to limit entries in September. I had two arenas for each evening, judged by two very popular judges, Kate Davis and Barbara Scott; they were ably assisted as by writers: Chris Henn, Jackie Hunt and Kirsten Weaver. With one evening rained off, I had to accommodate all the entries from the August event to September thus making a total of 40, all of whom had to be fitted in between 5pm and 7.15pm. We stuck to

times and managed to keep within the daylight hours! The Championship for highest number of points was won by Leah Sansome on Edwyns Royal Flyer. A number of special rosettes were presented: Aubrey Angelica winning the Veteran with Kylie Priddy-Smith, Under 12 Emily Karaivanov with Jendai Tyler; Under 14 Indi Ransley with Montruth Classic Mystery (or Cleudo to his friends); Under 16 Millie Robinson with Daisy's Choice and Annie Mynard on Jill winning the Young Rider. Now that the nights are drawing in and the weather is getting cooler I am running three virtual dressage events between now and Christmas.
