We enjoyed the opportunity to speak – on video – with Robert Desel, CEO of Te Crosby Group, just as we began working to launch an occasional series of video content for Wire Rope Exchange. In case you missed it, we posted that conversation on our newly launched YouTube Channel several weeks ago. Search “Wire Rope Exchange” on YouTube to easily find it.
Tat video has now been viewed more than 5,000 times, and we would certainly encourage you to watch it if you have not.
You will also soon find a video introduction to this issue of Wire Rope Exchange on our channel, sharing perspective on why we chose some of the stories you see in this issue. We kicked off that conversation by simply asking how Te Crosby Group had implemented its response to Covid-19. He began by outlining “that our three core values are safety, reliability and Innovation, and we were really able to rely on those,” from which he expanded on a variety measures taken up by their 1,600 employees working in over 30 locations around the world. He was quick to praise the efforts undertaken by leaders at each of those sites. Our conversation touched on a number of other topics. Among them, the importance of maintaining critical relationships despite disruptions to in-person activities and sales calls, and how some processes that were adapted in the response may endure. We also talked about the trade-off between resilience and efficiency and how that plays out in supply chains, and the value of maintaining an optimistic approach to your business when faced with challenges. We hope to bring you many more interviews with industry leaders as we build out our video series – both in conversational formats like this one or in one-question short features where we gain perspective from key stakeholders on a topic they consider important. We will also be highlighting select content from our magazine, and potentially providing first-hand reports on stories of particular interest. We anticipate making sponsorship and promotional opportunities available in the future,
but at present the channel is intended to promote the value of participating in the Exchange as an advertiser or member. In this issue – our main Feature introduces Contractors & Industrial Supply, a
Nashville-based distributor celebrating fifty years of service. We also welcome Will Dunn from the Lifting Equipment Store to our pages to share his UK-based perspective on 2020’s challenges, and the launch of his business in the United States – Look for that in our Update on page 76.
