John Krizay Company Celebrates 50 Years Company History T

he John Krizay company began in 1969 in Cleveland, Ohio when the company’s founder, John Krizay,

Jr., identified an opportunity to supply the aerospace industry with Quartz cores. After working several years to establish an initial customer base, Mr. Krizay moved the company to its current location, his hometown of Salem, Ohio in 1984.

Company operations expanded

over time to include supplying Alumina cores, as well. As their experience and expertise of working with both materials increased, the added capabilities provided growth for the company, allowing them to expand into new markets on an international level. Today, the company services customers throughout the United States and in 17 other countries. Over its 50-year history, the company has employed four generations of their family in various positions, including its third generation in senior leadership.

Capabilities The processes used at John Krizay have been developed and continually improved over the years. Rob Cook, VP of Operations, commented, “Those 50 years of industry knowledge and experience provide many benefits, including the ability to achieve the most precise tolerances in the industry and a very high level of consistency in our production. The experience also greatly benefits the development process for new parts. We can provide insight to our customers regarding the core design

that will best accomplish their desired outcome. Once we establish a design, we have the capability to get the initial group of parts to them quickly, so they can begin testing.

As we all know, in

our supply chain there is always urgency with development programs.” “And while all the knowledge,

experience, and fine-tuned processes are essential, they don’t mean a thing if you do not have the staff to execute those processes properly. Our people are what makes this a special place. We are a small company, but we achieve the output you would expect of a much larger facility because of our staff and their dedication to our company,“ Cook said. “We are continually improving our

quality control program, which includes being certified to the ISO 9001:2015 standard. In fact, we just completed our recertification audit in July. Quality will always be one of our top production priorities, second only to employee safety.”

“Our standards are also high in

regard to our company operating responsibly. On the environmental front, we have recycling programs for our waste such as cardboard and plastic. We also have strict procedures in place to properly dispose of our other industrial waste. While I know this is not necessarily out of the ordinary for most of the companies in the investment casting family, it is important to us,” Cook explained.

Looking Forward As the company looks to the future, additional product offerings are always

being evaluated. Expansion of the company is also a strong possibility. “Obviously, everything is in a holding pattern right now in our industry due to COVID-19. However, as we eventually return to pre-pandemic levels, I definitely see additional strategically- located facilities as a strong possibility for our company.” The John Krizay company attributes its

loyal customer base to their commitment to quality, low pricing, and customer service. “Our customers know what to expect from us in terms of quality, rapid response times, and steady pricing. We’ve built a relationship of trust with our existing customers and continue to build that relationship with our new customers. Our continued success is attributable to our experience and our people. Hard work by many people over the years has allowed us to get to this point, where we are fortunate enough to still be growing as we celebrate our 50th anniversary.“ Cook concluded.
