• Do not loiter or congregate on or near pontoons and bridges where this restricts access for others.
• Please be understanding and considerate to others.
Visiting Vessels The number of visitor boat nights per month have gradually increased since the lockdown was lifted as the graph opposite shows. The end of July was very busy and so far August appears to be busier than normal. There are noticeably less visitors from France or Netherlands and more doing coastal cruises along the south coast rather than venturing to the continent or Channel Islands. Harbours and marinas have been allowed to set their own rules on rafting of vessels and this is leading to disparity. Our advice is that each individual
skipper/crew should take the social distancing guidelines into account and to communicate with their
neighbouring vessels about how this can be managed between them.
Dart Harbour Office/
Meetings The Dart Harbour office is now open with social distancing in place and visitors to the office are asked to treat the office as a shop and wear face coverings. Staff also have PPE available to use. Wherever possible, we are asking people to carry out their business with us remotely, either using the phone or email to make contact with us. Some staff are continuing to work from home, when possible.
ZOOM has been used for Dart
Harbour Board Meetings during this time, which has worked well and we will continue in this way until further notice. We are encouraging the general public to submit written questions for the board to consider during our Zoom meetings.
CEO/HM I will be stepping down as Chief Executive, Harbour Master and Pilot of Dart Harbour and Navigation Authority. already put in place and those planned will endure and that the next CEO/HM will enjoy this challenging role and be able to provide the long term stability the river needs. I would like to thank all those who have given
