ACTIVE ADULTS RESOURCES Batavia Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)
Location: Batavia Government Center At 100 N. Island Avenue Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:30 – 11:30 am
About: RSVP is an intergenerational volunteer program that serves Batavians by identifying the needs of senior individuals within the community and then coordinating a volunteer response. Currently, over 100 individuals are serving as volunteers, helping improve the quality of life for Batavia senior citizens.
Qualifier for Programs: 65 or older and live in City of Batavia, Batavia Township, or Batavia Park District boundaries.

• Monetary allowance for prescription drugs, hearing aid batteries, and basic dental services.
• Monetary allowance awarded on the basis of need, considering applicant’s income ($35K max. annual income for singles or $45K for couples). Monetary allowance applied to deductibles and co-pays for prescription drugs.
• Applications may be obtained from the RSVP office.
Carbon Monoxide & Smoke Detectors
• Free smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors are available to Batavia senior citizens 65 years or older
• Those with existing devices may have batteries replaced
• Sponsored jointly by RSVP and the Batavia Fire Department
Batavia PACE ON DEMAND PROGRAM Pace Suburban Bus Service provides curb-to-curb service to commuters traveling anywhere within the designated service area. The Batavia Pace On Demand program operates from 6:30 a.m. to 6:50 p.m. weekdays, and one-way tickets are $2.00 when paying with Ventra or $2.25 cash. Trips can be booked online or called in at least one hour in advance. Information about the Batavia Pace On Demand program is available by calling 847-254-7471. You can make your online account at

Transportation
• Licensed and insured volunteer drivers provide free transportation for homebound Batavia seniors
• Ride appointments must be scheduled in advance
• Volunteer drivers are always needed. Please call the RSVP office.
Lock Boxes
• RSVP provides installation for free lock boxes on the outside of qualified senior citizen houses
• Allows emergency access to the home if needed by the Fire Department
• Must be at least 65 years old and live within the City of Batavia, Batavia Township, or the Batavia Park District
• Donations are accepted for those who feel they are able to help defray the cost of the lockbox
• Joint effort between RSVP and the Batavia Fire Department
