Since it’s opening,the museum has moved from the west to the east side of the armoury, which allows guests to have direct access to it without entering the armoury.
In June 2017,a mural, com- posed of sixty smaller portraits and scenes whose stories are told electronically by an interactive touchscreen computer,was unveiled. The latest big change is their Exterior Courtyard proj-
ect, which will be completed this year with an anticipat- ed official opening in September 2020. “This project will see an interlocking brick patio placed in the Museum
Courtyard.The design of the patio includes a poppy with a large black centre with four petals,”said Romses.“The current grassed area in the courtyard will have a landscape fabric and ornamental gravel placed on
it.This will then allow the Museum to display larger artifacts such as artillery pieces and a naval anchor.”
On the outside of the poppy’s petals for the project,
there will be a circle used for ‘Legacy’ engraved stones which can be purchased for $150 to provide recognition for those who have served or as a museum friend.
