VE Day Celebrations at The Potteries Care Home, Broadstone

There was lots happening at The Potteries care home this VE Day, as team members and residents celebrated the important 75th anniversary.

To mark the occasion, colleagues at the home dressed in 1940’s style clothing, and there was much toe tapping and hand clapping as residents enjoyed a production of ‘’Keep Smiling Through’’ performed by The Regency Theatre in Christchurch. A special VE Day

Celebration Garden Party was arranged for

the afternoon, with fresh homemade traditional cream tea of scones, cherry flapjacks and lemon drizzle cake, cheese straws and fresh strawberries. With the home’s large garden space decorated with bunting, balloons, flags and memorabilia, residents and team members had plenty of space and sunshine to enjoy the ambience and have a dance to music of the era in the sun.
