Sonoma County, CA. ~ Not only classical music impresses me. No mat- ter what type of music is playing, if it happens to be truly memo- rable, I tend to keep on hearing it without benefit of the radio or music playing device. It has to feel special and wonderful, no mat- ter in what category. That’s why I’m positively thrilled that so much on You Tube is free for all of us to enjoy to our heart’s content. While glancing through

some music offerings on the internet, I was happy as can be to hear the late, incomparable performer Leonard Cohen sing in his inti- mate and moving way, his “Hallelujah” once again. What a superb performance. But, I was amazed at a recording, like no other I have ever heard, by the late Israel “IZ” Ka’ano’i Kamakaw i - wo’ole. Playing on his ukulele, his “Facing Fu- ture” remains the best-selling Hawaiian al- bum of all time. Seems his re- cording of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” melting into his ver- sion of “What a Won- derful World” stunned

music lovers globally in 1999. Extremely popular world-wide, it continues to impress with such a genu- inely unusual array of sounds coming forth from probably one of the phys- ically largest human beings ever to perform- -and with such

intense warmth, giving forth soothing sounds by an unforgettably gentle voice. That gentle giant was also a great be- liever in promot- ing Hawai- ian

rights and often stated their case

for independence and sovereignty. Rainbows are indeed a strange phenomenon

because they appear di- rectly opposite the sun. We actually see only the arc of colors high above the ground from our vantage point. Mys- teriously, and quite mag- ical, rainbows are really full circles. There can indeed be double and even more rainbow arcs at the same time. It is only the human eye that “translates” the view of a rainbow into the colors that Sir Isaac Newton tagged: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.

He used the mnemonic “Richard

Of York Gave Battle In Vain.” or Roy G. Biv, to recall the sequence. It is indeed a “wonder-

ful world,” although cur- rently global worry about the raging pandemic is of primary impor- tance. Since many folks miss eating at favorite restaurants that feature ethnic foods, here is a safe, and de- licious main meal from Austro-Hun- garian heri- tage. There have been warnings about beef, but if you find some fresh chicken to

of nature. Caused by the reflection of water drop- lets the illusion of many colors in a giant arc in the sky comes about
