LewisLoves.com is a Cotswolds and South West lifestyle blog run by Adam and Sarah Lewis, sharing the very best the area has to offer. “Food is a particular passion of ours, and we can't wait to share our hidden gems with you. You can also follow us over on Twitter @adamlewisloves and Instagram @sarahlewisloves for foodie inspiration and much more besides."

2019 was a year of soaring highs and heartbreaking lows for the Giffords Circus family. Following an incredible season touring their show, Xanadu, circus founder Nell Gifford sadly lost her battle with breast cancer. She was an exceptional and truly loved woman, and a real visionary. This year, her legacy continues as her final two projects come to life; ''The Hooley' tours across England from May to September, and the Giffords Circus Cookbook hits all good bookshelves at the end of March.

We usually visit Giffords Circus several times each season; it's the highlight of our summer and we're never disappointed. If you haven't been, it's brimming with nostalgic wonder, awe- inspiring acts and hilarious comedy courtesy of everyone's favourite clown, Tweedy. As Hugh Grant once said; "it's the most fun you can have in a tent".

Post show, there are an array of delicious dishes on offer including wood fired pizzas served from an old show wagon. But for a real treat, you need to book yourself into Circus Sauce. Run by head chef Ols Halas, Giffords travelling 40 person restaurant is extraordinary; where else would circus performers and audience members sit side-by-side in a circus tent, sharing stories over supper and enjoying a puppet show from the kitchen crew? It might not sound

like an obvious place to enjoy a meal but believe us, much like the circus, it more than lives up to the hype!

This year, you can recreate a little bit of that Giffords Circus magic in your own home, with the publication of their cookbook. Co-written by Ols and Nell, this beautiful book is a celebration of the food that brings the circus and its audience together, alongside the story of the circus and its vibrant community. The fabulously curated book is full of colour, personalities, and stories of the circus. The book's 100 recipes are truly joyful and hearty.

Last year, Nell said: "At Giffords, we have always cooked big feasts for the company and our friends and family as we travel together and that's how the restaurant originated. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to weave together our circus stories and recipes in one amazing cookbook."

We can't wait to whip up our very own batch of Circus Sauce for our friends this summer; they'll love sharing dishes like 'West Country Cassoulet' or 'Ham in Hay with Parsley Sauce' with a rum packed 'The Strongman Cake' for dessert. Although we'd best get working on our circus skills pronto if we want to recreate Giffords and give them a real night to remember!
