combined engineering experience, USS specialise in the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of interactive access control, CCTV and intruder alarms on a unified platform. 2019 was a fantastic year for
USS, having seen tremendous growth and expansion in both products and credentials. They achieved NSI NACOSS Gold certification and are ISO 9001:2015 certified. They also expanded significantly, partnering with Genetec, Lenel, and Milestone, among others. USS offer an exclusive 10%
discount for fellow Chamber members and encourage a rethink of the common misconception that once there is a security system in place then assets are protected. Unfortunately, the security of a premises is only as good as the system, the operator and the way in which the system is maintained.
Has your business considered the following when installing or maintaining your system?
ACCESS CONTROL 1. Level of encryption from card to reader and reader to control panel. Is the technology up to date? Dated technologies are easy to hack!
2. Audits on cardholders, access rights and system user accounts (database clean up)?
3. Fire system integration for fail open in emergency?
4. Are software updates being applied regularly?
CCTV 1. Are images fit for purpose (day and night)?
2. Is there correct signage on display?
3. Are cameras checked regularly to ensure they are working and playback video is available for the specified duration?
4. How frequently are audits carried out on system and device user accounts (user account clean-up)?
5. Is software and device firmware being updated regularly? This can improve performance and update any known security issues.
If any of these points set alarm bells ringing then contact USS for a free system health check and risk assessment.
