WME leaders wisely had evacuated the Home, so not one child was injured. But over 100 girls woke the next day to discover their beloved Home was gone; only a few walls of their damaged chapel building remained standing. WME Native Missionaries secured a safe, temporary residence for the girls and started the long process of rebuilding the Home. Secure in their faith and clinging to hope for the future, the girls prayed and waited patiently for the day when they would be able to return.
