School Games Summer competition

On 10th July 1300 young athletes, representing 86 schools, competed in this year’s Wiltshire and Swindon School Games at Marlborough College and Marlborough Leisure Centre. The Games comprised of 12 sports as part of a year-round School Sports Competition Programme supported by the National Lottery and Sport England. Alongside the sports competitions pupils from 12 schools particpated in a Change4Life festival giving students their first experience of the School Games. The Athletes Village provided a wide range of activities for athletes and an opportunity for the organisers to look at new sports to include in future competitions.

This, the largest Schools Sport event in the County, is organised by Wiltshire and Swindon Sport (WASP) and supported by the School Games Organisers, National Governing Bodies for Sport, Wiltshire Council and others.
