This year’s ride was on Sunday 8th September. Weather wise it was the perfect day, but sadly our numbers were down on previous years. However, we still managed to send £1500 to each of our charities – Frank Wise special school and Thames Valley Air Ambulance.
We could not run this event without the kind permission of the farmers and land owners who move stock, allow us to cross their private land and put jumps out. There were 35 gates on our route and we were able to leave every single one open! Special thanks to Swalcliffe Park Equestrian who once again allowed us to use their fantastic Cross Country Course.
Thank you to Noble Photos
www.noblephotos.co.uk for being our resident photographer for more years than I care to remember, Cordelia’s professionalism and enthusiasm are second to none. Check out her new black & white framed photos this year.
Central Horse News Magazine along with Di Green very kindly sponsored half each the cost of the lovely rosettes and the Co-op donated £250 as part of their community Support Donations.
Dorothy Bull and her team were busy serving teas, coffees, cake, pulled pork rolls and burgers. This was Dorothy’s last year of running the refreshments; we’d like to thank her very much for her past five years commitment.
My personal thanks must go to the girls at High Meadow Farm Livery and their friends and families - this event would not run without you! Especially to Nicky Mayo who took a weeks holiday to help me way-mark the route. Also the (non-horsey) members of staff, from Frank Wise School, who gave up their Sunday to help marshal the route.
Looking forward to next year!
igh Meadow Fun Ride was started by my mum, Di Green, 24 years ago and has now raised over £66,000 for various charities including SPEAR,
