MYP sharpens focus with PIANC partnership
N
ew at METSTRADE this year is a partnership between PIANC RecCom, the Recreational
Navigation Commission of the World Association of Waterborne Navigation Infrastructure, with the Show’s Marina & Yard Pavilion (MYP) to mutually enhance its programme held in the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre from 19-21 November. PIANC RecCom complements the list of leading bodies that contribute to the MYP programme, such as the Global Marina Institute (GMI) and the Dutch Boating Industry Association (HISWA). The MYP will host a specially- designed PIANC’s Marina Design Training Program (MDTP). The course, which is scheduled for 19-20 November, will focus on
design fundamentals for marina owners and operators, including refurbishments and new projects, as well as new trends in marina design. PIANC RecCom will also convene an open meeting to discuss marina adaptation needs to best service the growth in electric propulsion recreational vessels on 20 November. Finally, the PIANC Marina Excellence Design ‘Jack Nichol’ Award will be presented to the 2018-2019 winner during the MYP Waterfront Drinks. The Award recognises excellence in the design of modern recreational boating facilities around the world.
