10 BREAKWATERS AND PONTOONS

ICMS Continuous Concrete Pontoon at Conwy Marina.

Upgrade for waiting jetty D

ue to operational changes, the 500-berth Conwy Marina needed to upgrade its waiting jetty.

The marina approached Inland and Coastal Marina Systems Ltd (ICMS) to replace the pontoon with a structure that meets the needs of both harbour users and

marina operatives. The Continuous Concrete

Pontoon was the solution as it provided a modern floating dock, with increased berthing and load capacity for larger vessels, whilst requiring less maintenance. Varying water levels between the outer harbour and marina basin

Largest shipment to marina in Vietnam

A designer and turnkey builder of yacht marinas and floating structures, Marinetek is well-known for its massive concrete pontoons and ability to undertake wide- ranging projects worldwide. The company has an impressive track record with over 2,000 reference projects in 50 countries. In June, Ana Marina in Nha Trang, the first-ever marina in Vietnam, received 77 pontoons direct from the pre-casting yard in Johor Bahru in Malaysia. This represented one

of Marinetek’s largest pontoon shipments to date and comprised a mix of seven different pontoon types, including Super Yacht Pontoons for a fuel dock and a breakwater. Upon arrival at Nha Trang, the pontoons were offloaded into the sea from the freighter and a tug was used to tow them inside the basin at Ana Marina to be ready for installation and piling.
