as usual. There was so much food at Saturday night’s potluck that we were able to replicate the meal Sunday after the ride. Delish! Most of the campers stayed over Sunday night to get an extra ride in on Monday. The beauty of a long weekend. Thank you Sonja. The Simcoe Forest ride August 23-25, host Richard Gauthier. Area. Equestrians from all over Ontario came out in support of the Hamilton Conserva- tion Foundation to raise money for the Dundas Valley trail system. The Equestrian Campout celebrated its 15th year anniversary with amazing weather, great food, entertainment and activities. A total of $12,472.32 was raised which will go towards trail maintenance and replacing bridges across the Dundas Valley. Thank you to all who participated and who helped make this weekend successful! “anyone can ride in good weather”! Lol We rode early Saturday to beat the extreme heat but by Sunday the humidity had lifted and we were able to start at our usual 10:00 a.m. Overall a good time was had by all. Thank you again Helmut. You are the “best”! Helmut did not invent the art of hosting a ride but, he perfected it! Dufferin Forest, August 2-5, host Sonja Wyss. Well attended. We also had a few day riders each day. The trail bosses were were excellent

Fabulous attendance with old and new members. 7 trail rides, scheduling departures around the heat, kept our horses health on the top of the list. Thanks for the extra water tank brought over in the staggering temps. Special thanks to OE who not only put on a very informative trail riding clinic for seasoned and new members but also supplied a scrumptious lunch. Our tool boxes are now overflowing as we can always learn some- thing new about safety and trail riding. The tack auction gave us all an opportunity to purge but of course come away with that must have bargain item. Horsie folks can never have too much tack! The pig roast was a big hit along with the fixings and sweets. The horses rested comfortably in every kind of enclosure or high line. Even an iron horse made the trip! Welcome to our new members who we hope will enjoy the forests with us for many years to come. Yvonne Taylor Vivian Forest, July 19 – 21, host Helmut Hitscherich. The humid ex reached the mid-40s but that did not discourage the riders who showed up for a weekend at Helmut’s. According to Helmut

Dufferin Forest Fun-D-Ride, July 5-7, hosts Elaine Wiesner, Sonja Wyss. Another successful Fun-D- Ride at the Dufferin Main Tract this past weekend.
