The Boarding House is about to open the doors to its new boutique hotel rooms, and one lucky winner will be the first to stay!
Located in the beautiful market town of Halesworth Tyler and Pauline Torrance run The Boarding House Dining Rooms. Renowned in the area for their restaurants exceptional food and service with a business based on local products, local food and local artists. One of their long term projects has been to create boutique hotel rooms in the beautiful old building. The work is now nearly complete and they have teamed up with Community News and Places&Faces magazine to offer one lucky reader the chance to be the first to stay, with a guest, in one of the rooms when they open. Imagine not only being able to stay the night, but being the first to stay and then to have the chance to chat with Tyler and Pauline to give your feedback on your stay. Add to this a three course evening meal for two in the fabulous restaurant and you have all the ingredients for an amazing experience. Tyler and Pauline are constantly looking to delight and surprise their guests with creative food in the dining rooms relaxed and friendly environment and the logical next step for them was to create beautiful rooms in the picturesque town of Halesworth. The building itself is Georgian and is located at the top of the Market Place in Halesworth. The history is a bit of a mystery, however it was built in the 17th century as a commercial building with shops on the ground floor and meeting rooms above. Now it is home to this fabulous venue enjoyed by many, for all occasions with the local food, wonderful wines, great beer and a friendly service on offer. Their menu changes frequently, inspired by
Suffolk’s seasons and traditions, so why not pop in to sample one of their fantastic dishes or check out their instagram for some amazing offers and events.

Pubs Glorious Pubs!! Welcome to Your Suffolk Pub
Pubs, glorious pubs… Suffolk has some of the best, from revered city centre boozers to peaceful riverside beer gardens to the bars of swish hotels. We wanted to share some of our favourites with you, so welcome to the first edition of Your Suffolk Pub, brought to you by the team behind the Community News. We are passionate about our local communities – the towns, villages and hamlets we call home – and pubs play a vital role in providing common ground, a meeting place at the heart of these communities. Many a great idea has originated from a quiet night at the local! But pubs are more than that. They are a place for friends and family to gather, somewhere to celebrate special occasions, somewhere for colleagues to unwind after a busy day at work. They are places where people from all walks of life are welcome as equals. Use Your Suffolk Pub to find the best places to eat, drink and relax. We have recommendations from chefs, bartenders, winemakers and food artisans. We can point you in the direction of hidden-away places and pubs where the children and dogs will be welcome. You’ll find trustworthy recommendations all highlighted with our helpful icon buttons to let you know at a glance which amenities are on offer. We love this county and we love these pubs.
