THIS year’s Village Show was said to be the best ever! Mind you this is said most years so you could be forgiven for wondering what the first one was like! However, this year the entries were up with 280 exhibits and nearly 200 people attended the event. There was a real buzz in the afternoon, not only were there entries to admire but there were plants to be bought, historical photo’s to view, information to gather about the Commons Group, fresh veg to be purchased

all that we love about apples and more.

from the Allotments Group and if that wasn’t enough tea and delicious cakes were served.

Thanks must be given to all those involved in making the show such a tremendous success: The committee, the Parish Council and Woottens who sponsored the show, the exhibitors, the ‘stall’ holders, the ‘tea’ ladies, those who came to view and those who stayed to help clear-up. Heather and Jane should be thanked for handing out the trophies to the green-

fingered winners. Lastly to the children who attend our school,

for their paintings,

that not only showed off their artistic prowess but brightened up the hall. Yes, indeed it was the best show ever! PS.We shouldn’t forget particular thanks to Dee and Pat for gathering together such an eclectic selection of prizes for the draw and for selling the tickets, thanks also to those who donated the prizes.
