THE ADVENTURES OF GINNY August

I head to Burghley for the first time, 10 years on after competing at Badminton, It’s been a long wait but such a great feeling to have the chance to be back at the top.

My horse Undalgo De Windsor, 11 year old French bred, has had great preparations for making his debut at 5* level. He has proved so bold, straight and genuine in all of his 4*’s.

I shall be going back to 5* level with the rider number of 35, the very same number I had 10 years ago at Badminton… who would have thought it!

Trendy Captain Clover, just a 9yo, owned by Milly and Antonia Kaye really has excelled himself. Jumping immaculately at his four 4*s. He heads to Blenheim in September for his first CCI4L*. Most recently placed 7th in the 8/9yo Advanced.

The young horses have been coming on really well. All now stepped up to Novice and making the transition seem an easy one. 5yo Confession Time owned by Emily Tweedie has secured a number of solid novices under his belt. He will head to Osberton for the 5yo championship class, following on from Gatcombe Novice.

A

ll been pretty much non-stop here at Ginny Howe Eventing, and plenty of news to report.

As I sit here typing up my blog feeling a mix of excitement and nerves, discovering my drawn number for Burghley just a few hours ago, it is all seeming very real.

6yo Irish CHF Archie Owned by Jane Blakesly- Grimes, in his first season eventing has also made an easy upgrade and now heads to the 6yo Championships at Osberton.

My own About Time Too, has excitingly decided he would like to become an event horse again. After a bad injury and then him deciding he didn’t really want
