JOE ‘S JOURNAL A New Faces
nother busy month, I have not been abroad this time but I’ve been focusing for some time on the younger horses
and I also have several new rides. Corloti, owned by John and Sue Bosher, arrived 2 months ago and I have been working hard on her flat work and body control to and over a fence. She is 6 years old but has struggled in the past to keep a level canter. She has an enormous stride. She gets that from her Mum, Corlato. That is the very exciting bit, her Mum took my Dad to the Olympics in 2008. Mum can tell you all sorts of stories about Corlato, especially how stubborn she was. The thought of this mare and me jumping some big classes one day is something I know Dad would be so proud of.
Billy Brocade, owned by The Billy Stud, is a lovely big 8 year old. He has been jumping some good classes. Will Funnell asked if I’d like to jump him and take him to some shows. I leapt at the chance, he’s a lovely horse. I jumped him at the Royal International meeting at Hickstead and we jumped at the British Showjumping

National Championships; he jumped really well at both. I have him entered for the September Hickstead meeting too and I’m hoping we will get a chance to jump in the main ring.
Kandleford arrived on the Monday and I took him to Wales and West on the Wednesday,
