that is how easy he is to ride. Colin and Ann Garratt have bought him for me. He’d been with Adam Botham, one of Dad’s previous riders, who had him in to sell on behalf of the Broom family. He was home bred and has a lovely personality. I am really looking forward to jumping him in some big classes next year, over this winter I’ll spend time getting to know him. The Royal International at Hickstead was a great weekend, not just for the jumping but also for the #10forTim run we organised with the help of the Bunn Family. Lizzie Bunn worked so hard to coax riders to get teams of ten together. She deserves a medal, riders aren’t always very easy to pin down. It was a fabulous night with 200 runners taking part. It raised over £50,000 on the day and money is still coming in. There is talk of it being an annual event, if it happens again I’ll be making sure my team gets some more training in so we can win next time.
I had a really good weekend at Stoneleigh for the British Showjumping National Championships. Being Ambassador was a new experience for me, I enjoyed it. All of the horses went well especially Casharel IV who was absolutely fantastic every day. Billy Brocade just missed out on the Horse of the Year Show qualifier in the Grade C Final. Sadly the wind and rain did make things difficult for the organisers but they did everything they could to make sure everyone was looked after and all the classes ran on time.
This next month is going to be non stop. I go from Wales to Hickstead to Bonheiden to Arena UK to Canteleu. I’ll let you know how it goes next time.
