responsibility to ensure you and your colleagues have an experience to remember now sits on your shoulders and, as we all know Christmas is an exhilarating, glamourous and magical time of the year, so there is significant pressure to deliver! However, there is no need to panic. Here in Sheffield,
Y
Christmas has become enshrined in our venues DNA - and with a history and heritage of hosting events, you and your guests are guaranteed a warm Yorkshire welcome and an exceptional time. We are proud to have a rich variety of venues from
converted steelworks and cutlery works, a number of three and four-star and boutique hotels, international sporting venues, Grade-II listed buildings, national chains and independent bars and restaurants, museums, theatres – you name it, Sheffield has it. Some of your colleagues may enjoy the prospect of a
three-course dinner, while others may prefer to hit the bar. For some it may be about the entertainment that’s on offer, but in Sheffield, you will be able to choose from a variety of options that cater for everyone’s needs. Many of the region’s venues have been hosting public
and private corporate Christmas events for years and their product is an established brand. When choosing your perfect venue, ask the Christmas Co-ordinator if the main organiser of those companies would be happy to talk to you, so you can gather personal and professional feedback directly in addition to testimonials on the venue’s website. There is very much the sense of a “Team Sheffield” spirit,
in that if the venue you have called is unable to accommodate your date, then it is likely the Christmas Co- ordinator you are speaking to will be able to suggest or recommend another venue in the city where you will be well looked after. If entertainment is key to your decision making process,
we are extremely lucky that our local suppliers are often at key events throughout the year where you can experience first-hand what you are likely to expect at your corporate

Top tips for organising a Christmas party
• Do ask the Christmas Co-ordinator to put you in touch with their repeat clients to gather feedback.
• Do accept recommendations from the Christmas Co-ordinator if your preferred venue does not have availability.
• Do attend events throughout the year to check out local suppliers entertainment options.
• Do ask to see food and beverage menus and images of the menu options in advance if booking a public Christmas party night.
• Do ask the venue for a food and wine tasting so you can sample yourself what your guests will be enjoying at the event if booking a private Christmas function.
Christmas event. From funfairs, live music concerts and festivals, to charity events, open days and sporting events, just like our venues, the local suppliers we all use across our portfolios are also the heart and soul of the city, so it just as important to them as it is to us that your event is a great success. We all indulge during the festive period. Food and
beverage plays a key factor for all your guests and tends to be one of the main parts of the event they remember, so when choosing your venue ensure you consider the menu options available. If it’s a public or shared Christmas party night, ask to see the menu in advance if it is not displayed on the website or in the Christmas brochure, as well as any images of how the food will be presented so you know what to expect. If you are booking a private corporate Christmas party ask the venue for a food and wine tasting, so you can sample yourself what you and your guests will be enjoying during the event. Creating and hosting the perfect corporate Christmas
event demands experience, creativity and imagination. Over the years Sheffield and its impressive portfolio of venues has hosted thousands of exhilarating events - and as a city we strive to bring our clients’ visions and our event experiences to life. Merry Christmas!
