ABOUT THIS MAGAZINE: inbusiness is a bi-monthly publication and digital magazine distributed to 6,000 Chamber members and key businesses in Northamptonshire. The publication focuses on news and information about local companies and the initiatives and advice available to increase the prosperity of county firms. Northamptonshire Chamber welcomes newsworthy articles of business interest, giving preference to Chamber members. As editorial space is limited, inclusion cannot be guaranteed and the editor may amend or reject articles submitted.

One of Northamptonshire Chamber’s key functions is to raise the profile of business and celebrate success so I’m delighted to say we’re in the middle of running two high profile awards ceremonies. This summer we ran the inaugural Next

Generation Business Awards at The Northampton Marriott where we shared in the achievements of 15 fantastic finalists and saw five wonderful winners crowned. We launched these awards to recognise

inspiring young people whose achievements are making an impressive impact in their chosen field and it’s fair to say everyone who attended the awards ceremony was blown away by the calibre of the finalists. We’re proud to raise the profile of such

brilliant young professionals. You can read more about the Next Generation Business Awards winners in The Next Generation column in this issue of inbusiness and we’ll be publishing a bigger celebration of the awards in our October-November edition. Looking ahead, on 5 September we’ll be celebrating an impressive array of

‘EVERYONE WHO ATTENDED THE AWARDS CEREMONY WAS BLOWN AWAY BY THE CALIBRE OF THE FINALISTS’

businesses from across the county at this year’s Northamptonshire Business Awards. For the second year in a row we’ll be holding a glittering awards ceremony at Park

FOLLOW NORTHAMPTONSHIRE CHAMBER AT:

Inn Northampton where we’ll bring together the county’s top businesses to find out who will win this year’s nine category awards. Each winner will receive £1,000 of marketing support from Northamptonshire Chamber and the overall Business of the Year Award winner will receive a cash prize of £10,000. It promises to be a night to remember! Finally, I’d like to thank all the businesses who filled in our latest Quarterly Economic

4 inbusiness AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2019

Survey (QES). I’m proud to say we had responses from county businesses representing 179,000 employees during the last quarter. Filling in the QES only takes a few minutes and the more responses we get the stronger our voice becomes when we’re fighting for the needs of business at local, regional and national levels. Our next QES goes live on 26 August – we look forward to your responses!
