THE CHAMBER’S MISSION TO HELP LOCAL BUSINESSES
At Northamptonshire Chamber we engage with a wide variety of local, regional and national organisations to push for changes that make life easier for business and stimulate growth. Recently, we’ve been involved in
high level discussions with the British Chambers of Commerce to communicate the views, concerns and priorities of local businesses over Brexit with the Business Secretary and top tiers of Government. Members looking for the latest information about Brexit can find guidance on the Chamber’s website under the Representation tab. The Centre for
Cities Think-Tank, which is dedicated to improving the UK’s economy, has learned about the barriers facing businesses in Northamptonshire, thanks to help from the Chamber, for its latest commissioned study. We’ve met with the British
members the University of Northampton, Northampton Hope Centre and Voluntary Impact Northamptonshire, to host the UK’s first social trading conference. We continue to engage with the Big Issue and key stakeholders in Northampton about social trading and how to support local business. We are one of the primary

meetings with the South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP) to discuss the
Chamber’s Quarterly Economic Survey, the Growth Hub and skills and
employment in the area. We have also attended the
Business Bank to discuss the finance options available to small and medium sized businesses; ranging from options such as proof-of-concept, debt finance and equity loans. We have collaborated with them on how to communicate this information to businesses so the British Business Bank and the Midlands Engine Investment Fund can help organisations to realise their potential. At the end of last year we were
