AONB sign There had been a�empts to remove the damagedAONB sign fromthe posts, but it had not been possible, so it would have to be removed, refurbished and re-installed on newposts. Itwas agreed to ask the insurance company to cover these costs. AllotmentsAprevious tenant’s ex-partner wished to continuewith the allotment.He did not live in the village but no interest had been shown in the allotmentwhen advertised. Itwas agreed to let him continue as a tenant, to be reviewed in September. Road name The parish council had been asked for input into a name for the new road off Forge Lane and the new community barn. Itwas agreed to request Blacksmiths’ Court and Blacksmiths’ Barn. Itwas also agreed to ask that the road sign matches the others in the village. Mallards The clerkwas to ask that the slide handrail atMallards be lowered, as itwas considered to be too high. Donation There had been no response to the clerk’s enquiry following a donation request fromthe Bearsted Parish Council playscheme, so itwas agreed not to donate to the scheme this year. Garden competitionMemberswere asked to submit shortlists so that judging could take place in July. Residentswould be asked to nominate gardens for consideration.

FeteHelp had to be drafted in for preparations for the fete on June 1 and volunteerswere required for the parish council stand on the day. The usual stalls would be present and a live band, Automaton,would be performing. Community association The loft storage projectwas complete and the parish councilwas thanked for its support.
