Grants for schools

There are many different grants out there for schools. Here are just a few that are open for applications now…

Projects that aim to improve outcomes for children from disadvantaged backgrounds can receive financial support

FUNDER Music for All

GRANT VALUE NEXT DEADLINE DETAILS Up to £2,500 1 July 2019

Education Endowment Foundation Grant value: Average of £360,000 Next deadline: 28 June 2019; further rounds are imminent Details: The foundation funds projects aimed at raising attainment and wider outcomes of children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds in England. It supports projects that improve pupil outcomes without increasing teacher workload, such as the enhancement of home-learning environments and the introduction of breakfast clubs. Funding is initially given for pilot projects to run across six to eight schools – or across an academy group – with the potential to be introduced as broader initiatives. Schools need to apply as a group. How to apply: Online at educationendowmentfoundation. org.uk/projects-and-evaluation/how-to-apply/ Individual schools can also apply to join a pre-funded pilot project at educationendowmentfoundation.org.uk/ projects-and-evaluation/recruiting/

The charity believes everyone should have the opportunity to learn to play music, and its grants aim to support people in fulfilling their musical dreams. Schools in the UK and Ireland can apply for funding to bring music to their communities, whether in the form of instruments, tuition or music programmes aimed at enhancing social cohesion and wellbeing. musicforall.org.uk/apply-for-funding/

The society provides funding to help promote the teaching of Latin and Roman studies in schools. Grants are offered for purchasing textbooks and other resources, and for organising Roman-themed study days, especially if they benefit large groups of children.
