Oranges & Lemons


As summer approaches, the tang of citrus is a refreshing way to enjoy gin. Brockmans Gin has devised recipes focusing on two ingredients in the gin itself: oranges and lemons. Let the bells ring out!


The Brockmans Herbal Sour makes the most of new season tarragon, whose warming and slightly bittersweet note offsets the lemon and ginger in this soft, yet refreshingly sharp cocktail.


The orange cocktail in this duo is the delicious Brockfast Martini – an after-dark twist on a


breakfast martini. Tangy orange marmalade marries beautifully with the bittersweet Valencian orange peel in the gin. The recipe also uses lemon juice which, with the addition of the marmalade and Triple Sec, provides another tangy new classic that looks elegant and tastes glorious.


Herbal Sour INGREDIENTS


• 50ml Brockmans Gin • 25ml lemon juice • 12.5ml Gomme • White of one egg METHOD


Muddle a large sprig of tarragon and 3-4 slices of fresh ginger in a shaker. Add all the other ingredients.


Dry shake. Wet shake with large ice cubes. Strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass.


Garnish with a sprig of tarragon and an additional slice of fresh ginger.


Brockfast Martini


NEWS World Gin Day ‘Brocktails’ Competition


Brockmans Gin is a 40% ABV English gin which is currently running its annual World Gin Day ‘Brocktails’ contest.


Open only to bar professionals, Brockmans invites bartenders and mixologists to submit their original Brockmans Gin ‘Brocktail’ recipes.


Create and submit your entry then all you have to do is remind your customers to vote for your concoction. They could win gin and you could win a prize of an expenses-paid trip to Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans.

INGREDIENTS


• One heaped bar-spoon of orange marmalade


• 40ml Brockmans Gin • 20ml lemon juice • 20ml blackberry/blueberry syrup • 20ml Triple Sec METHOD


Add the marmalade and Brockmans to a shaker. Crush together with a bar-spoon.


Add the rest of ingredients and ice. Shake, double strain into chilled coupe/Martini glass.


Garnish with an orange twist.
