truly come back with a vengeance! No, we’re not talking about cotton mills or coal mining – we’re once again talking furniture (because, let’s face it, that’s our bread and butter!).

Our Tolix-style chairs, bar stools and tables – some of the newer additions to our growing collection – have brought the industrial theme right back around again, with their rustic look and gunmetal finish making them a hit amongst event profs far and wide! … perhaps looking old isn’t so bad after all!

And whilst there are certain ‘go-to’ themes, food-types and furniture favourites that simply never go out of fashion - the, umm, chair, being one such example... Kinda need those in most cases, come what may – for the most part, event industry trends will come and go.

But just like the fashion highs (and lows) that have made a mark on generations gone by, there are a handful that will come back around again, and again, and again.

Take the super stylish Arkana Tulip-style chairs, by way of an example. A staple design from the 1960s (back when Europa International was a mere infant in the wonderful world of event furniture hire) this chic, curved chair has made a well-deserved comeback.

Once the bottom-resting place of choice for Spock and his Starship Enterprise buddies, It looks right at home beside any table, fitting in seamlessly no matter what colour you’ve chosen to inject into your venue.

But like any good recurring trend, a modern twist is always welcome, and the beauty of these chairs is that the seat pads are interchangeable, meaning that making sure everything fits in perfectly with your colour scheme has never been easier!

Next, throwing it back even further to the 18th Century and the Industrial Revolution to a trend that has well and

People really are jumping on the bandwagon with the industrial theme and who can blame them! Now, walking through the streets of any UK city you’re bound to come across at least a handful of bars, restaurants and cafes that have opted for the grungy, distressed look, with a combination of metals and woods making for an establishment that definitely hits the top end of the ‘edgy’ spectrum.

So, here we are in 2019 and, oh boy, has the world created some weird, wacky and wonderful trends which bring about the thoughts we now find ourselves having on a daily basis, like: “Since when was flossing a dance, I thought it was something you did to your teeth?!” and anyone else totally bemused by “Baby shark do-do-do-do-do-do”?

But, one thing we needn’t question is that the events industry is onto a winner with bringing old trends back to life and putting a bit of a spin on them to keep

things ‘fresh’. Adding a splash of colour here, there and everywhere alongside a monochrome colour palette or metallic theme is the PERFECT way to create that fun, funky look at a bar, drinks reception or even conference.

So, Event Profs, the moral of the story is not to make your guests feel like they’re living in the dark ages, but to embrace the opportunity to revitalise some of the wonderful trends that have been, gone and come back around again in order to create an event that’s lightyears ahead of its time.
