NEW MARKETING PROGRAM LAUNCHED IN APRIL

The North American Trail Ride Conference

(NATRC) recently launched a social media marketing campaign to bring awareness to the educational and chal- lenging aspects of competitive trail riding (CTRs). As a national organization, the NATRC Board of Directors voted to reach the greatest number of potential competi- tors through targeted Facebook advertising. NATRC has designed and distributed nearly a dozen

sponsored advertisements that depict scenes from CTR events that take place around the United States. Some of the ads also feature specific aspects of the sport, includ- ing taking pulse and respirations on trail and completing a veterinary check.

NATRC RETURNS TO PRIVATE OKLAHOMA RANCH After a two-year absence, the North American Trail Ride Conference (NATRC)

is returning to the Zink Ranch in Sand Spring, Oklahoma for an event Memorial Day weekend, May 25-26. Managed by the experienced team of Phil and Shirley Brodersen of Chandler, OK, the ride is expected to be well-attended as NATRC is the only organization allowed on the 8.000+ acre private ranch on the outskirts of Tulsa. The Indian Territory CTR, as the ride at Zink is known, features varied terrain

that includes technical one-track trails as well as grassy two-track ranch roads, some of which meander along the lake shore. The camping facilities boast of many elec- trical hook-ups. “The ice storms, and then wet spring seasons, really took a toll on the trails the

past few years,” said Phil Brodersen. “But we are delighted and grateful to be back at Zink Ranch this year with several new trails.” The event offers

four different divisions in which to compete, in- cluding the newly intro- duced Leisure Division which is shorter and slower than the tradi- tional NATRC offerings. Horse and rider teams may enter one- or two- day formats as well. For additional infor-

mation on this or other rides,

TWO NEW RIDES ADDED TO

2019 NATRC REGION 4 CALENDAR There will be two new competitions on the NATRC Region

4 calendar. The first will be held June 8-9 at Woods Ranch in Boswell, OK, and the second will be September 28-29 at Six-0 Ranch in Cleburne, Texas. The Woods Ranch location is the first time a NATRC event will be offered, although there have been several American Endurance Riders Conference (AERC) races held there in recent years. NATRC will be returning to Six-0 Ranch after a nearly 10-year absence. More information on both events can be found on natrc4.org. w
