The Par 3 Course
THE BRAINCHILD OF CLUB CHAIRMAN, NICK WAINWRIGHT, THE NEW PAR 3 COURSE HAS PROVED TO BE AN EXCELLENT ADDITION TO ROYAL LIVERPOOL’S FACILITIES.
Consisting of six interesting and challenging holes ranging from 80 to 150 yards in length, all of which feature small and tricky greens, this little gem of a course was created by Greenkeeper Craig Gilholm and his staff in difficult growing conditions created by last year’s heatwave. The par 3 course will be of huge benefit to all members, but especially to juniors and beginners not quite ready to tackle the main course.

John Ball Blue Plaque
John Ball was further honoured last year with a blue plaque placed on one of the pillars flanking the entrance to the Royal Liverpool clubhouse. The plaque, initiated by the Hoylake
Conservation Areas Association, was unveiled by the Mayor of Wirral,
Councillor Geoffrey Watt, alongside ward councillor Gerry Ellis and RLGC member John Ball, the second cousin of the legendary amateur.

Fast fairways and greens, and fast friendships formed
Ray Simm and Ken Weights, to our host families and their Clubs, and in particular to the Swedish junior organisers, Niklas, Tobias and Christian, who made sure we all had a very enjoyable and memorable week.
