The Robey Trust

THE Robey Trust Limited, a gem of a heritage engineering charity situated in the heart of Tavistock, is tirelessly working away to host this year’s Tavistock Steam and Vintage Fair in the Bedford Car Park on Sunday, June 2, between 10am and 5pm.

This event represents the main catalyst to

the Trust’s engagement with the community each year, delivering a snippet of nostalgia, evoking pastime memories of the age of steam, agriculture, transportation and the era of traditional artisans. The Trust itself continues to grow in leaps and bounds, celebrating its 36th anniversary since its establishment in 1983. Inside the

collection, over 40 of the finest products produced by the Lincoln based engineering company Robey & Co Ltd exist. Practically bursting at the seams, the Robey

Trust is a hive of activity, copiously aided by a cohort of bumbling volunteers keen to get stuck in with the multitude of projects being driven forward. But it’s not all about the nuts and bolts keeping each Robey exhibit together, instead the nut and bolt approach of developing a community of like-minded people who share the same enthusiasm to strive towards one common goal, to build a bigger and better collection of distinctive value for the whole community to enjoy.
