Okehampton Show Meeting friends from far and wide


OKEHAMPTON and District Agricultural


Association was founded in November 1890 with the first annual exhibition taking place in September 1891, when over 4,000 visitors entered the grounds; the weather was fine and


£102 was taken at the gate! Shows were not held during the two world wars and there was also a gap in the late sixties. More recently the show was cancelled in 2001 due to the catastrophic foot and mouth outbreak, and in


both 2007 and 2008 because of appalling weather. 2009 saw good weather and a record crowd turning up to support the return of the show.


Past shows were held on what is now the home


of Okehampton Rugby Club but the show outgrew that site and moved to its current location at Stoney Park in 1982. Set against the beautiful Dartmoor backdrop, this traditional countryside event where animals still take pride of place is a very popular attraction and a great opportunity to meet with friends from far and wide.
