FOCUS & me lets members share their experience of what it means to be part of our community.
We relocatd a nwlywedto London from the United States in 2018 to further pursue our careers. We learned about
FOCUS through our company and signed up as members in July 2018. Since that time, we have felt very fortunate to be a part of the FOCUS community of expats.
Prior to relocating, we had the opportunity to travel to London a handful of times. Although being somewhat familiar with London already, we quickly began utilizing the FOCUS website to learn more about living in London. FOCUS provided us with a plethora of useful information around shopping, travel and other activities in the UK and Europe. We also began receiving information from FOCUS on group events and seminars which was helpful for us as we prepared ourselves for such a big move.

Within the first month of arriving, we met with Eva Stock, the Director of Business Engagement to learn more about the events, resources and services provided by FOCUS. Eva was extremely helpful and attentive to our needs, and provided us with loads of information on sports clubs, healthcare services in the area, restaurants and other areas of interest to us. Her warm welcome and personal experiences as an expat and resident of London for 25 plus years was an invaluable perspective for us as we made this transition. Following our meeting, we were eager to sign up for many of the events FOCUS has to offer. Tese included the New Year’s celebration in January, a seminar on understanding the British in February and a seminar on US taxpayers living in the UK.
FOCUS has been an invaluable resource to us in the short time that we have been living in London. Te team is very responsive, even to ad hoc requests such as where we can take foreign language courses. We look forward to continuing to explore all that the FOCUS community has to offer.
