What is Core Energetics? T


hrough physics, we know everything in the universe is made up of energy. Our bodies, along with our conscious- ness, are energy systems that hold an imprint of all our life experiences, both positive and negative. When our energetic flow is cut off by unresolved painful or traumatic events,


we develop physical blocks in our bodies; in our muscles, our joints, our organs, our cells.


How does this happen? During our formative years, our


childhood selves strategize ways to defend against painful experienc- es in order to survive. This is done mostly unconsciously. In our body’s wisdom; our cells, organs, and muscles actually “listen in,” and our nervous system wires itself to adapt to our environment. Based on the types of energetic stimuli we experience, we formulate beliefs about our self-worth, our world, our caregivers, and life. These early-formed energy blocks limit our capacity to move, self-express, and to be in life fully.


In Core Energetics, we work with the chronic tensions in the


body where powerful emotions are blocked from being felt or ex- pressed. Core also invites cognitive explorations to raise our aware- ness of the unconscious misconceptions we hold about ourselves and life. We learn to identify our patterns in interpersonal relationships created in those early years that keep us from being in true relation- ship with others. Core Energetics serves to restore the balance and flow of energy between body, mind, emotions, and spirit. By combin- ing bodywork and traditional therapeutic techniques, Core supports you in achieving the life you wish to have, one in which your true, authentic self can meet and be with the challenges, and most impor- tantly, the pleasures of being human.
