BT on track to reach renewable energy goal


BT has announced that it is within four per cent of its 2020 target to power the organisation’s entire global operations with 100% renewable electricity. It has signed two new energy


deals that will mean 96% of its global operations are powered by renewable electricity, up from 81% the year before. The deals also mean that EE,


the UK’s biggest mobile network which is part of BT, is now powered by 100% certified renewable sources, saving more than 100 thousand tonnes of carbon emissions a year. BT has a long history of


leadership on climate change stretching back more than twenty- five years. It has already set a target to reduce its emissions by 87% by 2030, helping limit global warming to 1.5°C as recommended in the report.


Oviso Financial Services purchases headquarters


Mortgage and insurance adviser Oviso Financial Services has bought its headquarters in Queen Street, Derby. The company is on track to


complete on mortgages valued at a record £60m – up by more than £7m in 2017. Now it is set for further


success after completing the purchase of its own home. Oviso’s Co-founder and


Director, Matt Simpson, said: “Business has been going so well that we had the finance to purchase the property which we have rented since 2010. “This gives us an even firmer


foothold in Derby and offers the business and our brilliant staff more security.”


Caroline takes over Catena pilot launch


Catena, a business connections network based in Nottingham, is celebrating the launch of a franchise model with the appointment of Caroline Jackson to manage the pilot operation in Manchester. Managing Director of Catena,

Coffee shop heats up in Lincoln


Speciality coffee roaster and wholesaler 200 Degrees will open its doors at 34 Sincil Street in Lincoln this March, bringing handcrafted fresh food and artisan coffee to the city. The new 90-seater Lincoln


coffee shop will be located in phase two of the major Cornhill Quarter development in the heart of Lincoln and it will be the roaster’s eighth shop in the UK, serving freshly roasted coffee from the 200 Degrees Roast House in Nottingham and bringing 12 new jobs to the city. The Lincoln venue is the fifth

Building society in awards scoop


Mansfield Building Society has received local and national recognition for its products, service and community work with a trio of awards. It recently won the prestigious


Platinum award for Customer Service at the Mansfield Town Centre Customer Service Awards organised by Mansfield BID. The award was given after the society scored 100% on its customer experience visit - the highest score available from the Mansfield BID.
