Bodø is the administrative centre for Nordland county authority. It is the northernmost town along Kystriksveien. Bodø is a modern commercial centre situated in beautiful natural surroundings Bodø’s archipelago has a multitude of small island communities and a rich bird life. No other town in the world has a greater population of white-tailed eagles. ACTIVITIES Roundtrips of the skerries of Bodø Join in some of the tours of the area! For example, take a round-trip by express boat in Bodø’s archipelago; guided bus tours to Saltstraumen including city sightseeing; bus tours to Kjerringøy Old Trading Post (scheduled bus service Mon-Fri, and Sun) and Svartisen Glacier (summer: only scheduled bus service with limited options, same-day, round-trip is not possible). A visit to Nordlandsbadet is recommended - a nice and modern indoor water park. For biking enthusiasts, the stretch of highway between Bodø and Kjerringøy is one of Norway’s nicest biking routes. THE AVIATION MUSEUM The complete history of Norwegian aviation is presented here. The museum’s exhibitions give a broad overview of both civil and military aviation history, from mankind’s indomitable dream of °ying to the amazing realisation of

that dream. The most popular exhibits are the U.S. spy plane U2, Junkers 52, Catalina and Mosquito.


KJERRINGØY OLD TRADING POST Kjerringøy was one of the wealthiest trading centres in the county of Nordland in the last century. Today it comprises 15 listed buildings with almost intact interiors and a service building with a café and multi-vision show.
