• DØNNMANNEN (858 m elevation) Dønnmannen is located on the island of Dønna, easily accessible from Sandnessjøen by auto-ferry. The route is rated as challenging – and is best suited for experienced hikers. Allow about 5 - 6 hours for the hike. Once at the peak, you are rewarded with a fantastic view of the
archipelago!

• RØDØYLØVA (443 m elevation) There are daily passenger ferry departures (except on Sun- days) at 6:45 from Sandnessjøen allowing you to stop at the island of Rødøy and climb the well known peak, Rødøyløva (return in the evening). Allow 3 - 4 hours for the hike – a nice trip for both young and old. Magnifi ent views – and a
breathtaking 400 m vertical drop on one side!

• HELGELANDSBUKKEN (1454 m elevation) Take the boat trip across the Holand Fjord and walk up to Svartisen. At road’s end, there is a T-marked trail leading up to “Tåkeheimen” - a DNT-owned cabin. Allow about 4 hours up to Tåkeheimen (each way) and 1 additional hour for the trip to the peak (unmarked trail). Many visi-
tors do this as an overnight trip.

• SANDHORNET (993 m elevation) From the peak of Sandhornet, you can see nearly all of Salten on a clear day. The route is rated as moderately demanding with some steep sections. Parking at Horsdal (Sandhornøy), or at the ferry dock. Walk along the shoreline at the start – you will then enter a marked trail.

• KEISERVARDEN (366 m elevation) Keiservarden is one of Bodø’s most visited hiking desti- nations due to its nearness to the city and a magnifi ent view. Starting point either at “Maskinisten” or the tourist cabin - ask at the tourist office. Basic route suitable for
everyone - about 4 km.
