Publisher's letter I

t’s a brand new year and the perfect time to evaluate your level of fulfi llment or satisfaction in your life by doing a life wheel exercise. The life wheel includes: personal develop- ment, health & wellness, fun & enjoyment, family & relation- ships, career & fi nances, and spirituality. You measure how ful- fi lled you are in each area by rating yourself on a scale of 1-10, 1 being unfulfi lled, 10 being completely fulfi lled. Most people will fi nd that they are around a 7-9 in some areas, and only a

3-5 in other areas. What is important to remember is that if you are low in one area, it will trickle over into other areas and affect them, even if you have scored high in these areas. So, let’s examine each area and give you some ideas to expand your life!

1. Personal development: you become fulfi lled when you reach beyond your intellectual abilities by reading great books, listening to stimulating messages, learning new things and taking classes and workshops.

2. Health & wellness: fi nd new ways to get active, try a new exercise class or sport, go for a hike, dance, whatever it takes to get off the couch.

3. Fun & enjoyment: when you take good care of yourself allowing for rest, renewal and relaxation without feeling guilty, you are ensuring the greatest return on your current and future performance.

4. Family & Relationships: when you reach out by focusing on developing, deepening, and balancing relationships with both family and friends you are enjoying a fulfi lling life. Find the time to have dinner together, play games with your children or have a date night with your spouse.

5. Career & Finances: when you begin thinking of ways in which you can be of greater service to your customers, your employers and employees, you will not only begin to earn more money, it will also enable you to grow intellectually and spiritually.

6. Spirituality: you are expanding your level of fulfi llment in spirituality when you prac- tice forgiveness, gratitude, and mindfulness.

When you expand your comfort zone of what is possible in any area of your life, you

are reaching out and living a fuller, richer, more prosperous life. Here’s to a great 2019! In Health and Happiness,

NH. My friend Pam and I went to breakfast one morning. While we were eating, 2 older women walked in, one whom was elderly having dif- fi culty walking with a walker, and they sat a couple booths behind me. As we were paying our bill, Pam asked the waitress if those 2 women

W

had ordered their breakfast yet because she wanted to pay for their meals as a gift. So, the waitress brought their bill over and Pam paid it. She asked the waitress not to tell them until after we had left because she didn’t want to make a big deal out of it. When the waitress went back to the counter, one of the women got up and asked the waitress how much their bill was going to be because she wasn’t sure she had enough money. We were FLOORED!! I asked Pam why she decided to treat them and she said that the thought just came to her so she chose to act on it. Obviously, something guided her to do it, because those women needed it. We left the restaurant beaming and when we got to the car, we both cried a few happy tears, knowing the good deed that had just been done. As we were driving out of the parking lot, one of those women came out of the restaurant waving to us and blowing us kisses! Talk about making the day brighter for everyone involved!

Paying it forward changes your neural network. It becomes a healthy addiction. I en-

courage you to even schedule pay-it-forward acts into your day since fate doesn’t always place opportunities in front of us. I challenge you to be creative and think of ways you could pay it forward to help brighten someone’s day and possibly have an affect beyond just that one person. If we all perform a kind act without expecting anything in return, think what a better place the world would be.
