Central Panhandle Fair In Bay County, Inc. Central Panhandle Fair In Bay County, Inc. is a

small family oriented non-profit corporation mainly serving a tri-county area in northwest Florida. Our annual fair this year started October 1 on Monday and ended October 6. Last year, our fair was hampered by false reports of high winds and bad weather, however the rides were not shut down by high winds and the rain was mostly before we opened and after we closed. We held our annual Special Needs Student Day. Last year’s Special Needs Student Day was an- other success. We opened early with a guided tour of the exhibits

of art, baked goods, boats, flowers displayed by the local garden club, handmade crafts in the American Legion Hall, the quilt room and vendor displays. These challenged students seem to appreciate the displays but their faces really light up when the tour leads to the animals. The chickens, rabbits and oth- er small animals are seen first and then the horses. The tour ended at the midway where the rides were free thanks to Arnold Amusements, Inc. The Bay County Sheriffs Office volunteers helped students onto and off the rides when needed, and provid- ed a good example of community service while they met and greeted the chaperones, students and other volunteers. The deputies seemed to enjoy the day almost

as much as the students. Our directors volun- teered their time for this event, and by consen- sus agree it is the best day of the fair. It fills our hearts and lifts our spirits to see the smiles on these students' faces and hear the happiness in their voices as they see the sights and ride the rides. We wish to thank Arnold Amusements, Inc., the Bay County Sheriffs Office, the chaperones and other volunteers that make this event possible.
