Kitchen and bathroom projects of all scales and budgets were included in the honours, as well as a range of special categories including New Designer of the Year, Best Use of Materials, and the British Design & Manufacturing Award.
Other categories included the International Design of the Year, recognising some of the best design talent from outside of the UK – a section which saw entries from Australia, New Zealand, Turkey, Italy, Canada and the US.

he 16th annual Designer Kitchen & Bathroom Awards took place last month at the Grand Connaught Rooms in Central London, showcasing
to Renee Mascari, kitchen designer and the former CEO of the KBB National Training Group who has worked for many years to enhance and encourage standards in kitchen design training throughout the industry.
This year’s Design Classic Award winner was Quooker’s Classic boiling water tap, which blazed a trail in developing a product category which has now gone on to become a must-have for many kitchen clients. Quooker co-director Walter Peteri collected this year’s award.
The 2018 awards were supported by headline sponsors Siemens Home Appliances, along with awards partner Hansgrohe and category sponsors Roca, Laufen, Rotpunkt, Duravit, TKET, Hafele, J. Rotherham, NOVY, and Spekva.
The award presentation ceremony, hosted by television and radio presenter George Lamb, concluded with the announcement of world-
renowned architect and designer Claudio Silvestrin as this year’s recipient of the Mark Wilkinson Award for Lifetime Achievement.

The date of next year’s Designer Kitchen & Bathroom Awards has been confirmed for Thursday 10 October 2019 when it will again take place at the Grand Connaught Rooms.
