Publisher's letter C

an you believe we are almost at the end of 2018? And now as we enter another holiday season, I hope you all can take some time to review, refl ect and celebrate

all that you accomplished in the past year. Ask yourself: what were your successes, your challenges, your surprises and most of all what do you have to be thankful for? Did any of your goals and dreams change throughout the year? Were you un- able to achieve some and if so, do you want to keep them on the list? Did you create some new goals and dreams this year?

Spend some time thinking about these questions and checking in with your feelings and emotions surrounding the answers. You made it through another year and now is the time to celebrate and reward yourself for all of your hard work.

Too often we focus on everything that went wrong during the year. The money we

didn’t make, the weight we didn’t lose, the relationship we didn’t fi nd. But in order to truly master the art of manifestation and send a message out to the Universe to bring us what we want, we must fi rst be thankful for what we have. Try and focus on what you did achieve and receive this year and most importantly, reward yourself for it! Rewards are positive reinforcements that make you feel good about your achievements, the price you paid for that achievement, and they reinforce the behavior and attitudes that led to those achievements. Don’t let your achievements during the past year and the feelings of victory evaporate without some kind of reward and recognition. This is an essential part of the combination for success.

Rewards can be extravagant or they can be simple. Treat yourself to a day at the spa

or block a half day out of your schedule to get outdoors and enjoy our beautiful nature areas. Take a weekend getaway with your spouse or a friend or plan a staycation and en- joy all that this state has to offer (great hiking, adventure parks, wine trails and farm-to- table restaurants). Go on a shopping spree and revamp your wardrobe or just clean out your closets, donate what you’re not wearing and create the space for a new wardrobe.

We want to wish everyone a healthy and happy holiday season and we look for-

ward to helping you achieve all of your goals and dreams in 2019! In Health and Happiness,

I

t is the season of giving. Working in the wellness industry, I have found the majority of the people I meet are “givers”, which makes sense considering they chose their profession to help people. I have

always considered myself to be a giver and like most of the wellness professionals I meet, have a really hard time “receiving” by asking for help when needed or accepting help when it is offered. When I worked with a Network Marketing company, one of the things they taught us was to ask people to do us a favor rather than try to sell them on the

products or services we offered. The principle behind this was that since most people like to do for others, they would be more likely to become a customer if you spoke to their giving side vs. coming at them as a salesperson. I struggled with this because I was al- ways willing to do someone else a favor and asking for help made me feel less than. One of the things I have learned over time is that by not allowing other people to help you, you are actually being selfi sh. Think about how good it feels to do a favor for someone or be there for them in their time of need. Doesn’t it feel good?

Not asking for help or accepting help when it is offered denies the people in your life,

who want to help, the opportunity to feel good too. So, at this time of year or actually at any time, when you need help or someone asks if they can help you, let your ego go, be a receiver and allow those people the opportunity to be a giver too.
