Not forgetting the bees, the ladybirds and butterflies they’ll attract. But for me, I chose mainly bee-friendly cutting-type


flowers because I’d always found it so difficult to grow them in my borders. The first year was impressive, the second was beyond my expectations. But the bonus for me is that I’m able to use this area as an outdoor photog- raphy studio, to capture those perfect blooms any time of day, any day of the week and in any kind of light and weather conditions.
